San Jacinto Museum

The Museum at the San Jacinto Monument features several displays on history of the Republic of Texas, Texas History, images, art and weaponry. Which are displayed very well. There is even a Library and special Artifacts area. I was told the Curators names were "Lisa and Liz" and that they were out on the grounds somewhere, needless to say with an average of 20,000 visitors I didn't find Lisa or Liz. Here are a few images from the museum, even though i didn't get as many as I would have liked to... the overhead lights were causing lots of glare on the displays! Enjoy...

MUSKET SHOTGUN USED BY JACOB ZIEGLER IN BATTLE OF GALVESTON JANUARY 1, 1863.  CONFEDERATE UNIFORM(1861) AND HAT, AS WELL AS THE COLT 45 BELONGED TO COLONEL WALTER L. MANN. DONATED IN 1941...

I intended to attend her lecture but we missed it thanks to krazy traffic on the way to the Monument from North Houston, We had to take several Loops and Detours! lol. But Dr. Scheer seemed very nice and eager to sell her book :)
